Theia Technologies has introduced the world's first ultra wide rectilinear lens for the security and machine vision markets. As can be seen in the image above, resolution, especially at the edges of the image, is much greater than typical wide angle lenses increasing the ease of recognition and identification.

The Security Industry Association awarded Theia the "Special Achievement in Innovation" award for new technology. The SY125 series of lenses can be used with a megapixel camera to save money by eliminating the need to install multiple cameras to cover a large area.
