Critical infrastructure protection

Critical infrastructure monitoring such as electrical power stations and transmission lines, dams, refineries, etc. require high resolution cameras with high quality optics. Theia's ultra wide angle lenses with low distortion are designed to support cameras up to 5 megapixels with a crisp, clear image. There are not many lenses available that can support multi megapixel cameras like Theia's SY125 series of lenses.

Below are some examples of critical infrastructure video surveillance applications. Most images were taken with a 5 megapixel IP camera. Click on the pictures to bring up the full resolution image.

Substation perimeters can be effectively monitored with Theia's wide angle low distorion lenses. Typical wide angle lenses have barrel distortion which limits the resolution at the edges of the image, reducing the effectiveness of using one camera and lens. Theia's lens with low distortion improves resolution at the edges of the image.

Ultra wide angle lenses can be used in UAVs to provide a wide field of view (2.5mi) from a low elevation (2500ft) when cloud cover or the desire to have fewer passes over the area are required.
