Scientific monitoring

For many types of scientific missions, there are stringent requirments on size, weight, and power that limit the number of cameras that can be installed at the sight. With Theia's ultra wide angle lenses, scientists are still able to capture a large image with only one camera so the area surrounding the site can be effectivly monitored. Here are just a few examples of locations where Theia's lenses have gone, from the bottom of the ocean to the top of the world.

NASA's GLOPAC mission studies gasses, dust, and other atmospheric constituants from a Global Hawk unmanned vehicle platform. Theia's lens provides unparalleled coverage, even showing the curvature of the Earth from 60,000ft.

NOAA is studying the melting of the north pole ice cap. In the summer, the ice under the camera installation will melt and the entire apparatus will sink.
