Optical Design & Custom Lens Manufacturing Services

Theia Technologies offers optical engineering and custom design services along with high-end lens manufacturing. We have worked with customers as varied as prime defense contractors (such as Northrop Grumman) and consumer electronics companies (such as GoPro) for applications ranging from lenses for satellites to sports cameras, desinging lenses to meet their specific and often demanding requirements. We contract with a Japanese optics manufacturer as well as ITAR-compliant US partners to produce lenses. We can design and manufacture prototype and low volume production, as well as lenses in production volumes (>300k/month for example).

Design capabilities include:

Theia's optical designers have nearly 60 years combined experience with classical optics and illumination design. Our experience includes design in visible and non-visible wavelengths, aspheric optics, plastic optics, low dispersion, and high index glasses. In addition, we draw on optical, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing design experience of our manufacturing partners.

Previous design experience includes neuromorphic binoculars, heads up displays, hang-on-the-wall rear projection TV, short throw and other projection optics and related LED illumination, high resolution full-size camera lenses, best in class high performance video lens for action cameras, wide angle and zoom lenses for cinema, VR evaluation lenses, and lenses for space, aerospace, underwater, and arctic conditions.
